Blog/Activity
I was able to visit the website Moving At The Speed of Creativity and read through the article "Advice for Teachers Starting with Classroom Blogging." This article written by Wesley Fryer, talks about how important it is for students to have a place to share their ideas and get feedback. Blogging gives students a voice but it can get tricky when you require students to comment on their peers work. Fryer discussing the many different sites you can use in the classroom for blogging. I have always used the site blogger to create blogs, so I believe that would be in the easiest site to use because I am already familiar with it. For instance, I would use blogging in the classroom when students need to give their opinions or want feedback on an assignment. This blog entry gave some good pointers and what to be careful with when you decide to blog with students in the classroom. Emerging Technology Tools
All five of the tools in the 'emerging technology' section were interesting and mind blowing. The technology that I was most impressed with was the Oculus Rift, which allows for students to put on a pair of goggles and shows them a virtual world. That virtual world could be a variety of things but I think it will be interesting to see how the history world can use a tool like this. Another tool is 3D printing, although it is used in some school districts, it will still be a tool I will be keeping my eye in the next couple of years as they expand to classrooms.

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
Bring your own device, also known as BYOD, is a method teachers use to bring technology into the classroom. I believe using the BYOD system in my classroom is a positive thing for both myself and students. There will be certain times students can use their devices and there will be times when the devices will be put away. Although students will be distracted with certain applications that are not school related, I think it is something I can control and make sure students are using the devices accordingly. Using the BYOD system is a great way to incorporate technology in your classroom, as well as a tool students can use to work on assignments and complete projects. I believe there is more pros than cons when it comes to bringing your own device to the classroom.
