FERPA/HIPAA Quiz
One thing I learned from taking the FERPA/HIPAA Quiz was how quiz and test results in the classroom must be posted. All results must be posted not by name or Social Security number, rather by a random number that is only known to that individual and their parents. If I decide to post a 'Top 10' list for a quiz taken by students, I will have to post it with their random number, not by their name. Before taking the FERPA/HIPAA Quiz I was unaware of this law. |
Data Report
On the MISchoolData website, I looked up information from my High School. At Greenville High School students in the 11th grade take the MStep exam. I focused on the Social Studies portion of the test during the 2015-2016 school year and found that more males were classified as proficient than females. Also, the only 'advanced' students who took the MStep were males, 15 students. |
Survey - PollEverywhere
I created a survey through PollEverywhere that asked students what their favorite after school activity is. I sent the link to 5 peers! It was easy to create a survey on PollEverywhere and students can answer the poll right on their device. I will be using this resource in my classroom! |
Example Questions/Surveys
1. Do you find Social Studies content interesting? Why or why not?
2. What is your favorite subject? Why?
3. What are you standardized testing strategies?
All of these questions could help improve the statistics I found from Greenville High School and their Step results. The data collected could help teachers, especially Social Studies teachers, to improve and make their class a 'top class' for students.
